'Felted quilt weaving'

What a fantastic weekend starting with a day workshopping at the Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracy on Friday, in glorious sunshine.  Unlike previous years where mud prevailed.  Actually the fun started on Thursday evening at the preview with champagne cocktails as it was the 10th anniversary.

Here are a couple of pieces from my students that were in the 'Art of Learning' tent:

Ding Dong the Dragon's Here, close up by Moira Laidlaw

So then the felted quilt weaving workshop on Friday afternoon went like a dream  - I love how everyone has exactly the same goody bag of resources but makes something stamped with their own creativity and individuality.  A Very sociable afternoon.

Free Workshops and a Mug Rug

Playing around with World of Wool's pre-felt to make a 'mug rug'.  Using Felted Quilt Weaving, an idea planted in my brain by Jude Hill's offering here, although mine is made from felt using the wet felting method, so no stitching at all!   Suppose a bit of post-felting stitching would add a new texture.  Could also become a doll's blanket...

I like the raggedy edge - which could say it's on purpose.  If I trimmed the edge, then I would refelt to make the edge firm.
